Channel League v Gloucestershire at Saunton - 18 April 2010
Team: David Blick, Anthony Bradley, Adam Bridgewater, Max Burrow, James Dimond, Sam Edwards, Lloyd Gardner, Damion Gee, Harrison Greenberry & John White

Devon started of the match very strongly taking the first three foursomes matches; comeback of the day went to Bradley & White who found themselves 4 down after
5 holes but then White hit the stick with his approach to the 6th and they never looked back from there, Gloucs rallied to win the remaining two games and they kept the momentum going into the afternoon singles.

Devon's top three were unable to muster a point between them as the match slowly started to turn the way of the visitors; Sam Edwards continued his fine form by beating Andy Hale, and Harrison Greenberry took an early lead in his match but could not hold on to it and finally succumbed 2&1 to Ollie Glaze.

David Blick won his second point with a comfortable victory and Anthony Bradley came back from 3 down with 4 to play with a birdie at the last to earn a half. Adam Bridgewater & Dave Wood had a battle royal with some great golf being played, but Wood took the honours thanks to an imperious 3-wood into the 16th from 220 yards to obtain a half and remain 2 up; two pars at the 17th meant again the points went to the visitors. Matt Stanford & Laurie Potter then closed out the match with wins over Lloyd Gardner & Max Burrow.

Channel League v Somerset at Worlebury- 27 June 2010
Team: David Blick, Anthony Bradley, Adam Bridgewater, Max Burrow, Sam Edwards, Damion Gee, Harrison Greenbury, Jason Hampton, Andew Place & James Smith

With the England World Cup match against Germany live at 3 o'clock; both teams were keen to see at least the second half; so the singles and foursomes were reversed and a two-tee start created.

The Singles started awfully. Reliable Damion Gee, playing off top, was cast aside 4&3 as he was ‘out-putted’ on very impressive Worlebury Greens. Jason Hampton also fell victim 5&4 and Max Burrow & David Blick both came unstuck 2&1.

Anthony Bradley let a 4 hole lead slip, as his opponent birdied the last to gain our first half point. Sam Edwards had recovered from a ‘Kent Sick Bug’ and was re-showing early season form with a solid 2&1 win. After an impressive debut at South West Week, James Smith continued with his form, chipping in at the first and second; this was sustained with several more orthodox birdies and he ended up riding out easy winner 8&7. The tail was wagging and Harrison Greenberry ground out a great half with a birdie at the last, having been 3 down.

Momentum then returned to Somerset as Andrew Place was a victim of 4 birdies on the bounce, and his 3 hole lead was stolen on the last to be 1 down. With scores tipped in Somerset's favour (6–3), it was left with Vice-Captain, Adam Bridgewater, to give Devon hope - a great back nine made short work of this as he won 4&3.

At Lunch – after Singles – Devon 4 : Somerset 6

Foursomes partners of Blick and Gee crept ahead through 9 and accelerated to the finish in a faultless performance winning 4&3. Burrow and Bradley were also plotting their way around the course without a bogey; this consistency and birdies around the turn were too solid and eventually they won on the last 2up.

With scores now even; news was optimistic through nine; up in one; level in one and down in one. All was set for a close finish as players started to miss the first half of the England Germany game!  After a poor start, Place and Hampton could not claw back against a solid Somerset pair and got whipped 4&3.

Next were Bridgewater and Greenberry; level through 9 sounded like it was going to the wire; but they turned up the heat on the coals and roasted to a comfortable 4&3 win. With Edwards and Smith now on 18 all square in a real ding-dong birdie battle, it looked rosy as Smith lipped out a chip from through the green to 3 feet. Somerset were 30 feet and a curly down hill putt was needed to save the match. And yep – you got it; he canned it!. Edwards tapped in and honours were shared. Although Harrison Greenberry, Sam Edwards, Anthony Bradley & James Smith were unbeaten, it was Vice-Captain Adam Bridgewater who secured 2 points and kept Devon in contention for the Channel League Championship; it will look nice alongside the South West Matchplay Shield.
