Recognition at last!
Phil Parker was presented with the Gerald Micklem Award at the England Golf AGM on 15 Feb, which  is presented to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to further the interest of amateur golf in England. At last Phil has had recognition for all he has done for the game at both County & National level and this was highlighted by John Flanders who made the presentation. The overwhelming response in the room was that it was about time he was recognised. Most of those present could not understand why he had not been elected as President of England Golf. With 60 candidates now registered for the DCGU 'Golf Rules School', at Fingle Glen on Saturday 3 March 2012, it is now fully subscribed. For those Candidates already registered, Specimen Answers to the Test Paper is available.

Captain's Winter Medal
The winter series of Captains came to an end last wekend (19 Feb) at a beautifully presented East Devon, strong cold winds made for tough scoring, but Harrison Greenberry hit 16 of the 18 greens en route to a 2 under par 68, following him was man in form Leon Fricker with 71 and in third place Ryan Mapp with 72.

British Boys' Champion
