1st Team v Juniors

A Brisk chilly wind whipped everyone into shape early doors as a strong easterly created testing conditions to all on the Moor.

Devon 1st Team romped through the Foursomes 4 games to 1. A rather optimistic Under 18's Captain was still convinced a major comeback was on the cards.

With all of the first five singles wobbling in the balance; it looked likely to be going to the wire. Top Match saw Max Burrow continue with a one hop slam dunk on 17 to see off Jimmy Mullen in a fascinating duel.

Ryan Fricker failed to convert opportunities and a hungry Sam Edwards munched a well deserved 2/1 win.

Tom Woodhouse was up against in form Leon Fricker; whilst this game was also played at a super level; it was Fricker's mean, lean haircut that seemed to cut through the easterly as he slashed through on the last.

David Blick was suffering from a classy performance from Harrison Greenberry and this was settled comfortably by Harry on the 15th Green :4/3.

Next came James Dimond up against Ryan Pope; a challenge that 'The Pope'took with great optimism and stole the jewel in this encounter on the 17th 2/1.

James Smith was returning to form as his short game closed this match out 2/1.

Next came the Captain, Neil Holland against Ollie Tanton; the Dutchman delivered blow after blow to an impressive Tanton but Holland only just crept over the line winning on the last.

With the match now won; it was up to the massive crowds that were now congregating around the 17th Tee to encourage all remaining matches it was still game on! They did not disappoint as the sun was also now shining strongly and temperatures were warm in the 1st Team camp; whilst still pretty chilly in the U18's huddle.

Steve Buzza went down the last against Dan Rosevear 1up; only for them both to 3 jack for a lessoned learned for both sides! Buzzer the happier Jack!

Vice Captain Bridgwater had been keen to extend his recent form but found young Jacob Tinsley to be a sticky opponent; although ahead earlier doors;Bridgewater ended up getting clawed back and overturned 2/1 -a great result for Tinsley and more points for the U18's.

This left the calm Jason Hampton to close proceedings with a top class up and down with the wooden wand to beat young Anthony McGeorge 2/1.
