Welcome to the Devon County Golf Union Web Site. Here you will find information on the County's activities, News, Fixtures, Results, Teams and more.

The Devon County Golf Union was founded in 1911 and exists to promote the amateur game of Golf by various means such as the organisation of matches and Championships that serve to raise the standard and profile of the game in the County.

The County has 50 affiliated clubs and details of each club can be found on this website.

The County Union is also the representative body in the County that acts in conjunction with the England Golf to administer the interests of amateur golfers throughout the Country.

The maintenance of the uniform system of handicapping and the operation the CONGU Standard Scratch Scheme on behalf of the Council of National Golf Unions is also vested in the County Union.

The Devon County Golf Union runs a County Card Scheme which allows members the opportunity to play golf at over 1200 courses in England at discounted green fees.

Amateur Championship

Ryan Pope became the 2013 Amateur Championship thanks to a birdie 2 on the first play-off hole against Harrison Greenberry. Harrison had won the coveted Gold Medal with the best 36 hole score from the first two rounds with Rhys Cruse taking the 'Wish' Slater Salver for the best score over rounds 3 & 4,

Gloucestershire at the Warren on 21 April was season opener for the 2nd Team's challenge for the Wessex League which resulted, sadly, in a 9-6 defeat.

Devon Seniors Team claimed another victory in their quest to retain the coveted Salver. Another close call too, winning 9 to 6 points over Gloucestershire at Churston on 16 May.
