Recognition at last!
Phil Parker was presented with the Gerald Micklem Award at the England Golf AGM on 15 Feb, which  is presented to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to further the interest of amateur golf in England. At last Phil has had recognition for all he has done for the game at both County & National level and this was highlighted by John Flanders who made the presentation. The overwhelming response in the room was that it was about time he was recognised. Most of those present could not understand why he had not been elected as President of England Golf.
